Terrifying Incident....But Super Funny

Recently we went to Florida for spring break. This was our first big trip as a family and it turned out to be such a wonderful vacation. We will now do it every year. Anyway, our daily routine while there was to get up, eat breakfast, pack our cooler of food for lunch, head to the beach, go home to swim, eat dinner and go to bed. One day while at the beach the kids were getting hungry. I passed out peanut butter jelly sandwiches to Nicholas and Maggie who were both ready to eat. Maggie had her sandwich and was standing on the beach blanket. She took a bite of her sandwich and did a little dance around the blanket with her sandwich in the air. I was watching her and smiling, knowing that she was loving being at the beach. As I am watching her carefree dance, suddenly a sea gull comes out of nowhere and swoops down taking a huge bite out of Maggie's sandwich. For a split second, neither of us reacted. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or not and I'm pretty sure Maggie felt the same way at that very moment. That soon changed. Her WHOLE BODY was trembling and she just shrieked. I held her tightly as she cried....and cried....and cried. People were staring, not sure whether or not to laugh like I felt just a few moments earlier. I felt so bad for her, she was just terrified. After she calmed down and was finally able to be out of my arms, another seagull flew by. Oh dear, she screamed again, "Birdie, birdie!!!" In retrospect, the whole thing was HILARIOUS! Of course, I never would have laughed while she was freaking out but it was really really funny. I wish I would have had a video camera.

It's Been Awhile

So I haven't written any stories in awhile. I need to get back to a regular routine of telling stories. It's hard to remember to do this daily or even weekly. We get to dealing with everyday things like t-ball, school, yard and house work...it all gets lost in the shuffle. But then something will happen and I'll think, "I want to remember this." So here I am once again, trying to remember so many things that have happened since I last wrote. We'll start with the funniest ones I can remember and see where that goes...
